Neurology and neurosurgery are primary areas of medical expertise for the Jackson Health System. Services are offered at many Jackson Health System facilities including Jackson Memorial Hospital, Ryder Trauma Center, Holtz Children's Hospital, Jackson North Medical Center and Jackson Rehabilitation Hospital.
In 2008, the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center’s neurology and neurosurgery specialties were ranked among the best in America by U.S.News & World Report.
Jackson Memorial Hospital, in affiliation with the University of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, is also a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Jackson Memorial is the only hospital in Miami-Dade County with this accreditation.
In addition, AHCA has designated Jackson North Medical Center as a Primary Stroke Center.
