Public Safety

The Public Safety Division is dedicated to providing excellent professional services that result in a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff and visitors to the Jackson Health System, as well as safeguarding the property and assets of the Public Health Trust (PHT).

The division is comprised of:

• Security Services Department - Provides services commonly associated with a typical policing agency
• Environmental Health and Safety Department - Responsible for identifying any issue/event that would adversely affect the health of anyone on our campuses
• Emergency Management Department - Responsible for the response and mitigation of any disasters/emergencies (natural/manmade) that affects the community, or the JHS, that would require medical support
• Key Shop Services - Responsible for installation/maintenance of all locks and key distribution/control
• Parking Services - Responsible for daily operation, maintenance and associated revenue collection for over 7,000 parking spaces within the garages and surface lots on main campus

Individually and collectively, all of the departments within the Public Safety Division support and interact with virtually every segment of the PHT 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
