Spasticity
Jackson’s spasticity program has pioneered the use of
medications and implantable pumps to relax chronically contracted muscles and
promote strength, flexibility and coordination. Patients with neurological
disorders, strokes and spinal cord injuries, as well as children with cerebral
palsy and other disorders, may benefit from this rehabilitative program.
An interdisciplinary team provides evaluation to determine the best treatment
approach, which may include a variety of interventions. These interventions may
include modalities, casting, musculoskeletal techniques and/or medications.
Jackson’s outpatient spasticity program provides follow-up care, and
specialized evaluations and treatments to patients throughout the
community.
